 The Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) Western Visayas organized a meeting with regards to the creation of the Guimaras OSH Network via teleconference using the Zoom Application dated November 17, 2021.

The agenda of the meeting were the rationale of the creation of Guimaras OSH Network, the Department of Labor and Employment Department Order 313 series of 2019, and the volition for a coordinator of Guimaras OSHNET.

Mr. Ruderic B. De Juan was appointed as the coordinator of the said network. Mr. De Juan will also be the temporary person-in-charge to be coordinated in relation to the facilitation on the creation of the Guimaras OSHNET while the formal election of officers is not yet officiated.

 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗦 𝗢𝗦𝗛-𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚

The Occupational Safety and Health Center Regional Extension Unit 6 will be organizing a meeting in relation to the creation of the OSH Network in Guimaras Province on 𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟭𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭 (𝟭𝟬:𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗠-𝟭𝟮:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠).

We are gladly inviting all of OSH professionals (Safety and Health advocates, officers, OSH practitioners & consultants) in the province of guimaras to attend this 2-hour meeting. This meeting will be attended also by Safety Officers 1 who completed their BOSH for SO1 training this year from Guimaras province produced by OSHC REU 6. 

During the meeting, the following agenda will be tackled:

1. Rationale of Creation of Guimaras OSH-Network

2. Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Administrative Order no. 313 series of 2019: Strengthen the operations of Occupational Safety and Health Networks (OSHNets) throughout the country.

(1) The institutional contractors or contract service providers must ensure that their employees deployed in government agencies are provided with medical coverage and they must meet the requirement as provided in the CSC-COA-DBM Joint Circular No. 1, s. 2017 dated June 15, 2017, as amended by CSC-COA-DBM Joint Circular No. 1, s. 2018. Heads of the receiving government agencies where the said job order or contract of service employees are deployed shall only provide medical assistance in case of emergency.

(2) Follow all instructions on work safety given by the agency/employer in compliance with the provisions of the Standards and make use of all safeguard and safety devices provided by their employer.

(1) Cooperate with the agency in carrying out the provisions of this Guidelines and report to the Safety and Health Committee any work hazard that may be observed in the workplace;

(2) Follow all instructions on work safety given by the agency in compliance with the provisions of the Standards and make use of all safeguard and safety devices provided by the agency;

(3) Participate/Cooperate with the Safety and Health Committee on OSH programs, initiatives and activities; and

(4) Support government agencies in the conduct of health and safety inspection or other programs.

Halos masubra sa lima (5) man kabulan nga wala maka bukas kag maka oparte ang mga nasambit nga establisyemento tungod kinahanglan nila mag sunod sa community quarantine guidelines.

To avoid the spread of the deadly virus, employers and employees shall follow the DTI guidelines on minimum health protocols for barbershops & salons:

1. No personnel with COVID-19 symptoms or with exposure to COVID-19 patients shall be allowed to work; 

2. No wearing of pieces of jewelry (e.g., rings, bracelets, watches, earrings, exposed body piercings); 

3. Observance of proper personal hygiene (e.g., clipped fingernails, observance of company-imposed personal sanitation); 

4. Mandatory wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: - Face mask,  Face shield,  Eye glasses, Gloves and Hair caps 

5. Mandatory wearing of closed shoes; 

6. Observance of the proper disposal of single-use supplies (e.g., cotton balls, popsicle sticks, tissue); 

7. Observance and enforcement of the client-personnel interaction protocols; 

8. Mandatory declaration of health and whereabouts prior to every duty in case contact tracing becomes necessary; and 

9. Frequent handwashing/sanitizing.
